Regulatory Process

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) is the state board with authority to approve the location of certain new transmission lines. There is a state law (Public Act 30 of 1995) that requires ITC to get approval from the MPSC for lines like this—lines that are greater than 5 miles in length and through which electricity is transferred at 345 kilovolts or more. Learn more about the Public Act 30 at Electric Transmission Line Siting – Public Act 30 of 1995

ITC is working closely with the MPSC to meet all guidelines of Public Act 30 to move this
project forward.
